R K Khitoliya
graduated in Civil Engineering from Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu
University. Subsequently, Dr. Khitoliya obtained M.Tech (Civil Engineering) and
Ph.D (Civil Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In addition
he has done LL.B, LL.M, Post Graduate Degree in Ecology & Environment and M.B.A.
(Executive)-H.R. Prior to joining his present assignment of Director HBTI
Kanpur, Dr. Khitoliya was Professor and Head of Civil Engineering Department,
Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He has supervised more than 85 M.E.
Thesis and has guided eight Ph.D students. He has been Convenor, Board of
Studies in Environmental Studies-Panjab University and Chairman, Research Degree
Committee - Civil Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. Dr.
Khitoliya has to his credit more than 275 technical/research papers in various
journal/symposia of national and international repute. He has authored 8 books.
He was a UNDP fellow at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He
has provided consultancy to more than hundred river valley projects in India and
abroad. His areas of interest are Geotechnical Investigations and Materials
Characterization, Environmental Legislation, Environmental Management,
Sustainable Development and Environmental Impact Assessment.
